Borough Council
Council meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in council chambers (see calendar for schedule; dates are subject to change).
Other regularly scheduled council committee meetings occur on the first Tuesday and Thursday of each month (see calendar for schedule; dates are subject to change)
Borough Property, Public Works, Public Safety and Operations and Policy
First meeting day of each month (may be first Tuesday or first Thursday depending on which of the two occurs first in the month)
Finance, Planning and Zoning and Committee of the Whole
Second meeting day of each month (may be first Tuesday or first Thursday depending on which of the two occurs second in the month)

The borough seeks volunteers to serve on committees and boards
Most terms begin on March 1 and vary in length from 2 to 6 years. However, vacancies may open throughout the year and volunteers are always welcome and needed. Any Forest Hills citizen interested in serving on a committee, commission or board should forward a letter of application with name of committee(s) of interest and a recent resume or brief biography to the Borough Office, 4400 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh, PA 15221. Please indicate “volunteer” in the bottom left corner of the envelope. Applications should be submitted to the Borough Office no later than the end of January each for March appointment, although applications will be accepted throughout the year until all positions are filled.
Current volunteers whose terms are expiring must contact the Borough Office to indicate their interest in reapplying for the position.

Civil Service Commission – (6 year term)
Environmental Advisory Council – (3 year term)
Planning Commission – (4 year term)
Recreation Board – (5 year term)
Shade Tree & Shrub Committee – (3 year term
Zoning Hearing Board – (3 year term)
The Community Development Corporation (CDC) handles appointments to its board. Also, one resident is selected by council to serve on the board for the Wilkinsburg Penn Joint Water Authority.
