The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, is in the process of preparing highway construction plans for Ardmore Boulevard/Lincoln Highway within Wilkinsburg Borough and Forest Hills Borough. Construction is anticipated to start in the summer of 2021 and finish in the spring of 2023.
The project begins near the intersection with Brinton Road in Wilkinsburg and extends east to the Lenox Avenue intersection in Forest Hills. The primary project scope of work calls to mill and resurface the existing asphalt roadway along with the replacement of three culverts under Ardmore Boulevard. The majority of culvert construction activities will be restricted to occur daily from 6 A.M. to 10 P.M. in an effort to reduce construction noise at night for Borough residents. The majority of the paving will occur during night-time or weekends. Night-time work can occur between the hours of 7 P.M. and 6 A.M. Weekend work could occur starting at 7 P.M. Friday until 6 AM Monday. Full details regarding this project can be found here.
